Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submitted manuscript has not been published elsewhere before and contains no materials the publication of which would violate any copyright or other personal or proprietary right of any person or entity.

Author Guidelines

Papers that are submitted for initial consideration should be completed based on the scope of the journal.

The manuscript pages should be numbered consecutively, double-spaced and with  custom margins. Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 12-cambria) for text.

Language

Articles and book reviews should be written in English. Spelling (British or American) should be consistent throughout.

 

Transliteration and Orthography

Where possible, all examples from languages not using the Latin alphabet should be transliterated using an accepted system of transliteration. Authors should use their chosen system consistently throughout the manuscript. Where no standard system has been adopted in the literature (e.g. examples of certain dialects never described before), use symbols to represent sounds that are as close to the IPA symbols as possible, and give explanations  where appropriate.  Where a transliteration  system is already used in the literature, no new transliteration system invented by the author will be accepted.

Length

Articles should be between 5,000 and 7,000 words (not including references) with no footnotes. Permission for longer articles should be requested in advance. The following should be included: abstract (100 to 150 words), up to five keywords, and in the title page file, affiliation details and e-mail address.

Manuscript Structure

The journal follows the APA Style 6th Edition for Writers of Research Papers, including the citation and the references. Final acceptance of articles requires adherence to the style sheet. Articles that do not follow the instructions will be returned to the authors for adjustment.

 

Title page      

Below the title, give the author’s name and (in smaller font) the affiliation and email (see the first-page example on page 6 here).

Abstracts

Articles should include a short abstract (100-150 words), placed below the title and author information.

Keywords

Please supply 3-5 keywords (in lowercase letters), separated by a hyphen, placed below the abstract, for indexing purposes.

Headings

Section Headings are used to organize the content of the manuscript. It should be descriptive and formatted consistenly.

The subheading, if neccessary, can be added to futher diveide the content within a section.

Quotations

Short prose quotations (up to four lines) should be retained (with quotation marks) within the body of the text. Use italics to indicate the quotations without double quotation marks. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of quotations.

Citations in the Text

The journal primarly uses APA style 6th edition. We recomend you to use reference manager tools for citation in the text.

Reference List

The reference list should be as complete and correct as possible. Use hanging indents. For two or more works by the same author, repeat the author’s name, and list the works alphabetically, not by date. Editors and translators should be identified as “ed./eds.” or “trans.” as shown below. Abbreviate “University Press” as UP, but write “University” of X “Press” in full. For websites, give the date accessed, accordingly abbreviated  (e.g. 3 Jun. 2019). In general, entering the URL of online referenced sources is not required, unless it is needed—in consultation with the editors.

Acknowledgements

Acknowledgments (personal thanks by the author, a general note on the article, and possible funding)

should be placed at the very end of the article, preceding the list of Works Cited.

 

 

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals, and cited consecutively in the text. Figures should be submitted as separate source files in .eps, .tif, or .jpg format, in a size suitable for the typesetting area of the journal. The resolution of these files should be at least 300 dpi for half-tone

figures, and 600 dpi for line drawings. Number the files, and indicate in the manuscript where they are to appear (Fig. 1 here).

The text in a figure must be legible, and should not be smaller than corps 7. The size of this lettering for any text in a figure should be the same for all figures in the manuscript.
